Just B4 Preschool is held in Queensborough Middle School and is designed support young learners the year before they start kindergarten. The program follows the standard district school calendar from September to June and can accommodate a maximum of 20 children.
Families may enroll in one of three options:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Tuesday to Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
* Fees are reduced owing to the program being part of the provincial government’s Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative.
Sample schedule
Each session’s schedule changes according to the day’s learning themes and involve both individual and group activities.
A typical Just B4 Preschool session may include:
- A welcoming circle and group discussion at 12:30 p.m.
- Inquiry and activity play.
- Snack time learning (each child brings their own)
- Creative opportunities for children to imagine, listen, and learn.
- A gathering circle to say goodbye at 2:30 p.m.
Registration and eligibility
Children are eligible for the program if they turn four years of age in the same calendar year (e.g. children born in 2021 may start Just B4 Preschool in September 2025).
Families may apply for two or four day sessions:
- Tuesday and Thursday (two days)
- Wednesday, Friday (two days)
- Tuesday to Friday (four days)
Applications are on-going. Upon acceptance, staff will phone or email the primary contact listed in the application with offers for spots and more information on how to proceed.
If the program is full, additional applications will be added to a waitlist.
